Microsoft has announced efforts to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from Xbox game consoles during the 2020-2023 fiscal years. These innovations include greening game code and allowing players to choose an energy-saving mode, which reduced over 1.2 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions compared to usage without interventions.
