Volvo is planning to launch five new cars in 2025 featuring the ES90 electric sedan that could compete with Tesla's Model S.

The ES90 is set to use the same SPA2 platform as the EX90 SUV with advanced safety technology, including roof-mounted Lidar sensors.

According to industry experts, the ES90 could offer over 300 miles of range that would cost between $80,000–$100,000.

In the year 2024, Volvo sold 763,389 cars worldwide, with an increase in sales of electric vehicles by 54%.

In addition, the plug-in hybrid vehicles also made up 46% of Volvo's total sales in 2024.
