Volkswagen’s ID.7: The Electric Sedan Rescuing the Sedan from Extinction
ID.7, its new electric saloon, has been revealed by Volkswagen. It is aimed at 435 miles of range on a single charge in its Pro S trim.
With an 86 kWh battery & a drag efficiency of 0.23, ID.7, it can be easily compared with even the standard Pro variant, which manages 382 miles of range from a 77 kWh battery.
The brand’s new flagship electric sedan, ID.7, will be available in Europe & China this fall & North America in 2024 and just might save sedans.
Pro & Pro S are two trims of the ID.7, both with an electric motor producing 282 horsepower (210 kilowatts).
The new AP550 electric motor from VW for the MEB platform will power the ID.7 when it arrives in Europe & China later this year.
Comparable to the Mercedes-Benz EQE electric sedan, the ID.7 is 195.3 inches (4,961 mm) long & has a 116.8 inch (2,966 mm) wheelbase.
The body of ID.7 has a drag coefficient as low as 0.23.
The feature inside ID.7 is an augmented reality head-up display that can display information like road lane markings & speed limits.
