Tesla's Gigafactory Texas Triples Employee Force & Invests Over $5 Billion

Tesla's manufacturing hub in Austin, Texas, tripled its employee count last year.

The company invested $5.81 billion in the 2,500 acre site, called Gigafactory Texas.

Over half of Tesla's workers in Austin reside in the county.

The company reported a workforce of 12,277 in the Austin area at the end of 2022.

Tesla plans to build the forthcoming Cybertruck in Austin.

The company expects its Austin car factory to be a model for sustainable manufacturing facilities.

Tesla is building world's largest rooftop solar installation in Austin & claims to have completed the first phase.

This particular project will eventually generate 27 megawatts of power.
