Tesla Cybertruck Prototype Captured During Road Testing
A Tesla Cybertruck prototype was recently spotted road testing near the company’s headquarters in Palo Alto.
The vehicle is undergoing beta testing, with plans to begin production this summer.
The photos captured show the prototype is true to the original concept, featuring flat panels and a stainless steel finish with no visible door handles.
Elon Musk recently tweeted about his experience driving a production beta version, calling it “incredible.”
There is speculation that a production version may be revealed at the Tesla Investor’s Day on March 1st.
The starting price for the Cybertruck in the US is expected to be $40,000, while the tri-motor version is estimated to cost $70,000.
The option to order a Cybertruck has been removed from Tesla’s websites in the UK and EU.
The Cybertruck’s design is complete, according to Tesla’s Chief Designer, Franz von Holzhausen.
Tesla has begun installing production equipment and has built several beta vehicles, with more on the way.
Despite glowing reviews from Musk and von Holzhausen, sightings of functioning Cybertruck prototypes have been rare, but production is set to begin this summer.
