Selkie Knots' One Art Piece at a Time: Upcycling Initiative Saving the Seas
How easy would it be if we pulled jewelry, wall hangings, baskets, bowls, or key rings out of the waste we produce?
Ghost nets, as we know, are one of the biggest issues responsible for deteriorating marine life.
Artists at Port Campbell, known as Selkie Knots, are upcycling the ocean debris and ghost nets found at the shore and create high-potential artworks out of it.
They have opened a shop in Port Campbell where they sell upcycled art pieces.
The majority of the artworks are made from upcycled ghost nets.
A headdress and mandala made of ghost nets.
Keyrings made of ocean plastic.
Baskets and bowls made from ocean trash.
Selkie Knots donates 20% of each sale to the Tangarao Blue foundation.
