Ram Goes Electric: Introducing the 1500 REV Pickup
Ram has finally revealed the name of its highly-anticipated first electric pickup truck, due for release in 2024.
The brand announced that the vehicle will be called the 1500 REV, which is a shortened version of the clunky moniker given to the concept version of the truck, the 1500 Revolution BEV.
Ram's parent company, Stellantis, has set a target of making 50% of its US vehicle sales electric by 2030.
The 1500 REV will offer a range of features including range, payload, towing, and charge time, according to Mike Koval Jr., the brand's CEO.
The automaker plans to release more information about the 1500 REV on February 12, 2023.
Ram is entering the electric vehicle market later than some of its competitors in the pickup truck market.
The concept version of the 1500 Revolution BEV included impressive features such as a futuristic design, a high-tech cabin, and Level 3 autonomous driving.
The 1500 REV will be Ram's first all-electric vehicle, representing a significant milestone in the brand's electrification journey.
Ram's electrification effort is part of a broader trend in the auto industry, with many other major players releasing electric trucks and vehicles in the coming years.
