Kering and Marie Claire Continue Sustainability Partnership with Launch of "Fashion Our Future" Podcast
Kering and Marie Claire have partnered to launch a joint podcast called "Fashion Our Future" that focuses on sustainable fashion.
The podcast is a spin-off from the consumer magazine and luxury conglomerate's partnership that began in June 2022 and expands on in-person learnings from their flagship event held in Paris last year.
The first consumer-geared podcast episode was released on Spotify on the same day as the sustainable fashion event in Manhattan.
The event featured panel conversations with industry professionals, media, influencers, and students, as well as a showcase of sustainability-inclined FIT student designers.
During the event, attendees donned plush headphones and listened to the sound of rushing streams and songbirds while seated multiple stories above the Manhattan skyline.
The conversation during the panel covered topics such as the fear of ditching fur in the fashion industry, the power of storytelling in shifting the sustainable fashion narrative, and the need for a life shift for the health of our planet.
Actress Kerry Washington and sustainable designer Aurora James were among the panelists who discussed sustainable fashion.
Kering's sustainability head, Marie-Claire Dave, spoke about the company's optimism for sustainability and how optimism is necessary to work in sustainability.
The launch of the "Fashion Our Future" podcast precedes further news from Kering regarding their sustainability efforts.
