Honda-Nissan Merger to Create $54 Billion Auto Giant by 2026

Nissan Motor Co. is an automobile manufacturing company based in Japan with its headquarters situated at Yokohama.

Honda Motor Co. is also a Japan based multinational automobile manufacturer with its headquarters at Tokyo.

Both the companies are quite popular and their names can be often seen on the road with models like Nissan Altima, Nissan Sentra, Honda City and so on.

For a while now, Nissan Motor Co. has been suffering severe financial setbacks, currently with its profit and net income in rapid decline.

Honda Motor Co. too faces problems like extreme production inefficiencies, which led both the companies to come to a decision crucial to the entire industry.

In the hope of better results, the two Japan based automobile manufacturing companies have decided upon merging.

The Nissan Co. suffered so much loss last year that thousands of people lost jobs and the company saw a significant production cut.

Most importantly, their performance significantly dropped in China, a place where brands like Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen and many more have also been seen struggling with market position.
