Sakina secured seventh position, while Parmjeet finished in eighth place in the weightlifting event.
Sakina, a bronze medallist at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, couldn’t meet expectations this time.
She struggled in her attempts to lift 90 kg and 92 kg in her second and third attempts, falling short of the mark.
Sakina, who contracted polio as an infant, has a disability that she has overcome throughout her career.
At the Men's 49 kg event, Parmjeet Kumar had a below-average performance, finishing eighth out of the nine participants.
His best lift was 150 kg, which he achieved on his first attempt.
An interesting fact about Parmjeet Kumar is that he had the honor of being the flag bearer for India at the 2023 World Championships.
