Trader Joe’s has issued a recall for approximately 61,500 bottles of Gerolsteiner Sparkling Natural Mineral Water due to a potential laceration hazard. The glass bottles may crack or break, posing safety risks to consumers.

The recall, announced on March 13, 2025, affects 750ml bottles sold at Trader Joe’s stores in 12 states between December 2024 and January 2025. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has classified this as a “Fast Track Recall.”

The recalled bottles can be identified by their lot numbers located on the lower part of the label. Bottles with lot numbers 11/28/2024 L or 11/27/2024 L are affected. The water was sold in large 750ml glass bottles featuring a white, blue, and red label with the name “Gerolsteiner.”

According to Gerolsteiner, the issue was identified through research related to bottle breakage during production and potentially affects 1% of bottles in the affected lot codes.

The recalled bottles were available at Trader Joe’s stores in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas. They were sold for approximately $3 per bottle between December 27, 2024, and January 28, 2025.
