Tata Motors recently launched the updated Nexon.ev on September 14th, 2023, setting the stage for a revolution in advanced mobility in India. With a starting price of INR 14.74 Lakhs, the all-new Nexon EV facelift is now available for purchase, with introductory prices ranging from ₹14.74 lakh to ₹19.94 lakh (ex-showroom), valid for a limited time. Tata Motors’ new brand identity unites the values of sustainability, community, and technology, embodying the core philosophy of “Move with Meaning.” The Nexon.ev is available in three distinct personas: Empowered, Fearless, and Creative, each tailored to the unique personalities and lifestyles of their target audience.

Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, a subsidiary of Tata Motors and a leader in India’s electric vehicle revolution, has unveiled its new brand identity, TATA.ev, reflecting Tata Motors’ dedication to sustainability and innovative breakthroughs. The latest version of the Nexon.ev is a noteworthy improvement, boasting a cutting-edge digital design, a futuristic and tech-savvy driving experience, and numerous intuitive and innovative features accessible through various gadgets. Mr. Shailesh Chandra, the managing director of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, emphasized that the Nexon.ev is not only breaking boundaries but also rewriting the rules, stating, “This groundbreaking vehicle addresses several unstated expectations of customers, offering features seen only in vehicles several segments above.”

The design of the Nexon.ev blends innovation with electric modernity, featuring a smart digital lighting system and a “bridge” element in the typography, adding a sense of motion and dynamism to the communication. The vehicle has been upgraded with unique features such as a redesigned front with Bi-LED Headlamps & Sequential LED DRLS, Daytime Lit, X Factor, Taillamp with Welcome & Goodbye, and an extended spoiler housing the rear wiper in plain sight. It also features a leather-wrapped steering wheel with an illuminated logo, a first in India. The ultra-HD 12.3-inch touchscreen offers a cinematic experience, complemented by the Harman AudioworX and 9 JBL speakers. The introduction of Arcade.ev, the first app store of its kind in India, allows users to access various apps, enhancing the in-car experience.

The names of the Nexon EV models have been updated, with the Prime and Max variants now called Long Range and Mid-Range, respectively. The Long Range offers a 465 km range, a 12 km improvement, while the Mid-Range variant has 325 km, a 13 km increase compared to its predecessor. The SUV is equipped with safety features such as six airbags, ISOFIX anchorages, standard ABS and ESP, a 360-degree camera system with sensors in the front and back, seatbelt reminders for all occupants, and front parking assistance. The Medium Range now features a 7.2 kW charging function and can attain a complete charge in just 56 minutes using a fast charger. It also comes with Vehicle to Load (V2L) and Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) charging capabilities, similar to those found in the Hyundai Ioniq 5.

The Nexon.ev stays up-to-date with the latest features and improvements through Over-The-Air capabilities. Tata Passenger Electric Mobility holds over 70% of the 4-wheeler EV market and has sold 100,000 Tata EVs, aiming to revolutionize e-mobility with their 3-phase strategy offering various body styles. The Nexon.ev features R16 alloy wheels with sporty aero inserts, X-factor tail lights at the rear, a spoiler-mounted hidden rear wiper, and fang-styled reflectors. The car’s digital display includes an auto-dimming interior rearview mirror, OTA updates, and rain-sensing wipers, along with safety features such as a 360° surround view system, blind spot monitoring, and hill descent control.
