Dry conditions and insulator pollution have triggered a major power outage across South Australia’s Yorke Peninsula and parts of the Mid North, affecting more than 25,000 homes and businesses as temperatures climb toward 35 degrees. The widespread blackout, which began early Friday morning, has disrupted daily life and halted business operations across multiple communities including Minlaton, Yorketown, Ardrossan, Moonta, and Wallaroo. The outage has also spread eastward to Port Wakefield and Balaklava, where over 1,000 customers are without electricity.
