A massive recall of breakfast sandwiches has been issued due to a potentially dangerous allergen not listed on the product labels. Hearthside Food Solutions of Salt Lake City, Utah is recalling approximately 489,887 pounds of ready-to-eat sausage and bacon breakfast sandwiches because they contain sesame, which isn’t declared on the packaging.

The recall affects frozen Lettieri’s Food To Go breakfast sandwiches produced between April 1, 2023, and March 25, 2025, with a 12-month shelf life. These products were shipped to Army & Air Force Exchange Services (AAFES) locations nationwide, potentially putting military personnel and their families at risk.

Two specific products are involved:

  • 8.35-oz individually wrapped “Lettieri’s Food To Go Sausage, Egg & Cheese French Toast Breakfast Sandwich”
  • 7.3-oz individually wrapped “Lettieri’s Food To Go Bacon, Egg & Cheese French Toast Breakfast Sandwich”

Both products have lot codes beginning with the numbers 23, 24, and 25 up to 2508451, and bear establishment number “EST. V4907” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced the recall on April 2, 2025, after Hearthside Food Solutions discovered that the French toast component of their breakfast sandwiches contained sesame flour not included in the ingredient list.
