Lotus Evija: The Electric Hypercar That Sets a New Standard for Performance

With the title of the world’s most powerful production car claimed by it, a new standard for what a production car can achieve has been set by the Lotus Evija. Producing a combined output of 1,972 horsepower and 1,253 lb-ft of torque, the Evija is powered by four electric motors.

Evija possesses the capability to go from 0 to 60 mph in under 2 seconds and has a top speed of over 200mph. Thanks to its 70-kWh battery pack, a range of over 250 miles on a single charge is boasted by the Evija.

Through the combination of a carbon fiber Monique chassis and carbon body parts, the car’s light weight is achieved. With a price tag of $2.1 million, the Lotus Evija is one of the most expensive cars on the market.

Despite its high price, the entire production run of 130 cars has already been sold out by Lotus. Thanks to its impressive power figures, the Evija is the most powerful production car in the world, with an output of 2,011 BHP and 1,703 Nm.

Evija can achieve acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in under 3 seconds and from 0 to 299 kmph in less than 9 seconds. The Lotus claims that the top speed of the Evija is restricted to 349 km/h. Owing to its impressive performance capabilities, the potential for racing in the future has been hinted at by Lotus for the Evija.

Offering 402 km of range under normal driving, a 93-kWh battery comes with the Evija. The hypercar’s battery can be charged to 80% in just 18 minutes using a 350 KW DC fast charger.
