HP Hood LLC, the company producing Lactaid milk, recently announced the voluntary recall of five units of 96 oz Lactaid milk containers across 27 US states, including the tri-state area. The reason stated by the company was the potential inclusion of almond pieces in the product that had not been declared on the label. The FDA following the company’s announcement stated that people with a severe allergy or sensitivity to almonds may risk a serious or potentially fatal allergic reaction if they consume these products.
