The P M was on his way to address a public meeting on Wednesday the 5th January,2022, at Ferozepur in Punjab. However he had to return to New Delhi, without fulfilling his engagement due to a security glitch. He met the President and a high level enquiry is going on to find out a reason for this security lapse.
Many rounds of allegations and counter allegations are in progress on social and public media. A few days back the first CDS Gen. Rawat and several armed force officers were killed in an IAF helicopter accident in TN. A tri-service enquiry board led by Air Marshal Manvendra Singh has ruled out sabotage. Meanwhile PM’s supporters are carrying out poojas and other activities for his longer life. Many are wishing a happy and long life for P M.
There have been many instances when Namo’s convoy was interrupted. In Chennai his convoy faced Kaveri protesters highlighting “Go Back Modi” slogans. On another occasion a body of a murdered man delayed his convoy on Delhi road. By the end of it, the convoy had to be diverted for safe passage. In a bizarre incident Ajay Yadav, a son of Samajwadi leader, jumped on the road as the P M’s cavalcade was nearing.
In yet another case the PM faced such a protest in London in 2018 when he visited the UK. The protesters were protesting over rapes of minor girls and killing of journalists & rationalists in India. There have been many other instances where Narendra Modi has been welcomed happily or unhappily. So, it seems, much ado is being done on the eve of elections by ruling and opposition parties. Of course it will be prudent not to comment further as this matter has become subjudicial because the Supreme Court has taken up this security lapse case as a PIL filed by an advocate’s body called ‘Lawyer’s Voice’.
A bench of Chief Justice N V Ramana and Justices Surya Kant and Hima Kohli has started hearing from 7 Jan, 2022. Everyone awaits for the verdict on this extremely sensitive issue as it concerns P M’s security. Meanwhile the dance of democracy continues in the form of electioneering in poll- bound States of UP, Uttarakhand, Panjab, Goa & Manipur.
