Denmark Powers Up Gefion AI Supercomputer with 1,528 GPUs for Quantum and Climate Research
Denmark’s quantum leap into supercomputing materialized as Gefion powered up its 1,528 NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPUs. The system’s quantum-classical hybrid architecture, spanning 65 kilometers of cable across its 30-ton frame, now processes computations inside Digital Realty’s Copenhagen facility. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang quantified Gefion’s impact: “Gefion is going to be a factory of intelligence. This is a new industry that never existed before. It sits on top of the IT industry. We’re inventing something fundamentally new,.” The DGX SuperPOD architecture implements NVIDIA’s Quantum-2 InfiniBand networking, enabling coherent data processing for quantum circuits. The 600 million Danish kroner ($87M) from … Continue reading Denmark Powers Up Gefion AI Supercomputer with 1,528 GPUs for Quantum and Climate Research
