A brand new 600 kW charging station for electric vehicles was recently opened in Bratislava. At the opening, a Tesla Cybertruck set a charging speed record by charging at a maximum power of 405 kW. This would allow enough charge for a range of 1,659 kilometers per hour.
In the presence of prominent guests, the company Ejoin opened the new charging station in the Slovak capital. The Cybertruck was brought to the charging station by the Czech company Cybertruck.cz. The high charging power of over 400 kW surprised the participants, as Tesla had not advertised that the Cybertruck could achieve such a high charging speed.
According to reports, the Cybertruck had only 7% battery charge left before charging. The maximum charging power was only reached for a short time at the beginning of the charging process and continuously decreased over time. In total, the Cybertruck was connected to the charging station for just over an hour. But even at a charge level of 99%, the vehicle was still drawing 32 kW from the station. Such impressive values were previously unknown, suggesting that the Cybertruck’s batteries may be more powerful than previously assumed.

The results also show that the charging station could deliver more energy than the Cybertruck can currently accept. The overall charging record is currently held by the Chinese electric minivan Li Mega. It achieved a peak charging power of more than 550 watts with its CATL battery. Consistently more than 400 watts were charged up to a charge level of 60%.
This test was conducted at the brand new ultra-fast charging station built by the Slovak electric vehicle charging operator Ejoin. It is reported that the rated power of this charging station can reach 600 kilowatts. As part of the super-fast charging station launch event, the Cybertruck.cz team connected their electric pickup truck to the 600 kilowatt charging station for charging.
