A popular Asian snack might be dangerous for people with milk allergies. Wismettac Asian Foods has recalled its Curvee Puffs corn snacks because they contain milk that isn’t listed on the package.
For people with milk allergies, this hidden ingredient can trigger serious or life-threatening allergic reactions. The FDA emphasizes that people with milk allergies or severe sensitivity to milk must avoid these products.
The recall started with one flavor on January 17, 2025 – Curry. By January 28, the company added two more – Sea Salt & Umami and Corn Potage. These snacks reached stores, restaurants, and online shops across 38 states, from California to New York. They even shipped to Mexico and Peru.
The FDA urges consumers to check for 2.46-ounce bags of Curvee Puffs with these numbers on the package:
- Curry flavor: 074410785123
- Sea Salt & Umami: 074410651558
- Corn Potage: 074410651565
If you find these snacks, don’t eat them. Take them back to the store for a full refund. The company sold these products until January 10, 2025, so they might still be in many homes.
No one has gotten sick yet, but the risk is real. The company discovered that the product contained an undeclared allergen (milk). They’ve set up an email ([email protected]) for questions.
