Chandrika Tandon, an India-born US millionaire, was awarded a Grammy for her chanting of Om Sahana Vavatu prayer. That prayer is in Sanskrit. Sanskrit is one of the classical languages of the world. The other four are Arabic, Greek, Latin and Persian. These languages have survived so far.
But many other languages are either extinct or about to disappear. According to Dr. Ganesh Devi, a linguist, there are 850 languages spoken by the people in the world. But 400 of these languages will be extinct by the next 30 years. Dr. Devi says that 280 languages having their own grammar have disappeared during the last 60 years.

There are no borders for a language. Armenian words are found in Vedic Sanskrit, while the Afghan component has made Indian classical music more vibrant.
