Zhang Zhuo, the general manager of BYD’s Ocean Online Sales Division, posted on Weibo that the fifth-generation DM hybrid technology will usher in the “2 Era” of fuel consumption. This means that vehicles equipped with the fifth-generation DM hybrid technology will have a fuel consumption of less than 3 liters per 100 kilometers, marking a new record in the history of fuel vehicles.

BYD executives confirmed: “The fifth-generation DM hybrid technology will usher in the ‘2 Era’ of fuel consumption.”

Currently, the Qin PLUS DM-i is equipped with the fourth-generation DM hybrid technology, with a comprehensive fuel consumption of 3.8L per 100 kilometers according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, which is already lower than most similar fuel vehicles. To achieve a jump from 3.8L to 2.xL would be an unprecedented feat.
