What a unique way to save our world! Not just you and I, but the whole world should see of how small and creative steps can not only save the world but make it a happening and a lively place to live. Ricardo Nicolau De Almeida was born in Porto in 1975. He has studied design and communication in Matosinhos, Portugal. During his early days he had been experimenting with various creative mediums before he finally launched his NICDEALM project in 2014. Through his creative expression he also spreads awareness of the harm caused by plastic pollution.


Now, in recent times, he has included cleanups, the creation of collaborative pieces, workshops for children, exhibitions in public places etc. Ricardo has focused on gathering objects along the Portuguese shore to utilize as the foundation for his artwork. Surreal Faces Made From Plastic Trash – Art By Ricardo Nicolau De Almeida, He uses Cigarette butts, fishing accessories, small pieces of plastic, fabrics, glass and plastic bottles, tools used by children near beaches, motorbike parts, food wrappers and a lot more to create his work of art.


Ricardo has been engaging in a variety of activities around the nation to bring public attention on the awareness of plastic pollution. The art pieces which he makes are really colorful and aesthetic. It catches the eye of the viewer and makes them wonder. His recent artwork portrays these masks of faces which are surreal but colourful to watch. His idea of playing around the bright colors is eye catchy  and makes heads turn. His perspective is not only to create something distinct but also to make the best use of wasteful products. How just one snappy yet simple idea can change the world!


Earth needs more artists like Ricardo. We should at least be able to give 5% of our energy for the welfare of our planet. Ricardo’s art has inspired many out there and will keep inspiring them with his surreal talent.
