A regional plan is set up to support the strengthening of integrated air quality management and reduce air pollution to protect health and the environment. This will help mitigate climate change and achieve the related Sustainable Development goals in the Latin American and Caribbean region.
2. During the Petersberg climate dialogue in Berlin, the Egyptian government severely curtailed environmental groups’ ability to carry out independent policy, advocacy, and field work essential to protecting the country’s natural environment. These restrictions violate the rights to freedom of assembly and association and threaten Egypt’s ability to uphold its environmental and climate action commitments.

Outdoor gear company Patagonia says “the earth is now our only shareholder” after transferring the company’s ownership from founder Yvon Chouinard and his family to two nonprofits established to fight climate change. In a letter posted on the 50-year-old company’s website, Chouinard said Patagonia would transfer 100% of its voting stock to the Patagonia Purpose Trust, created to uphold the values of the company long known for its environmental activism.
