The Beijing Auto Show between April 25 to May 5 attracted many novelties. One of them was British carmaker MG Motor. The MG Motor has taken the wraps off its EXE 181 electric car concept.

The EXE181 land speed record car inspired their stunning, head-turning electric hypercar. It boasts a radical design. The fighter jets have inspired the design of the new hypercar. We can see the driver seated in a single-seat setup behind a panoramic windshield. The windshield is framed on a sleek, aerodynamic silhouette.

Actually, the cabin does look like a fighter plane cabin. It has minimal work around. The model features an extended teardrop roofline ending on a sleek tailfin. According to the manufacturer, the drag coefficient of this car is just 0.181. The drag coefficient of F1 (Formula 1) cars ranges from 0.7 to 1.0.

MG did reveal that the powertrain used can propel this machine at a neck-breaking 0-100 km/h in just 1.91 seconds. Most of the specifics of this model have been kept under wraps. The concept will utilize a drag parachute to handle the potential for record-breaking speeds. This concept serves to safely bring the car to a stop during top-speed record attempts.

The EV is still a few years away from going into the production line. The upper portion of the electric hypercar seems to be transparent. It offers a view of suspension components and the steering. The absence of conventional doors suggests that the EXE 181’s roof likely opens to facilitate the entry for the driver.
