LG Energy Solution and Impact Clean Power Technology (ICPT) have inked a significant deal to electrify Europe’s buses. Over three years, LG will supply approximately 200,000 battery modules to ICPT’s Polish GigafactoryX. These batteries, made using NCM chemistry for higher energy density, will equip nearly 3,000 electric buses.
This deal is more than a simple transaction. It’s a strategic move to centralize Europe’s electric bus supply chain in Poland. LG’s Wroclaw facility, Europe’s largest lithium-ion battery producer, will manufacture these batteries. The deal is a nod to Poland’s growing stature in the automotive battery industry.
