Blimey, the rumour mill's been churning about HS2's Northern sections possibly getting the axe in the Autumn Budget!

Remember when Boris gave his word in 2020 about delivering HS2 in full? Seems like the tracks have shifted since then.

Hold on, if they scrap HS2 Phase 2b, what happens to the vital rail link between Manchester Piccadilly and the airport? That's our Northern lifeline!

Promises of a new rail line across the North have been dangled before, but last I checked, it's stopping short of Yorkshire. Leeds and Bradford, left at the station again!

If HS2 halts at Old Oak Common, the Elizabeth line's going to be packed to the rafters, and Euston? Left with a gaping hole and broken dreams.

HS2 was our ticket to bridging the North-South divide, but now it might just end up as a quick jaunt between Birmingham and London. What a palaver!
