The Durga Parmeshwari Annual Festival In Kateel, Mangaluru that occurs during the hindu month of Chaitra/Vaisakha. It is a mega festival that stretches for 8 days with many spectacles by the banks of Nandini river.
One of the main spectacle is also know as Thoothedhara or Agnikheli where the devotees divided in two parties throw fire sticks at each other. The bare chested devotees regardless of the pain and fire burns engage in this dangerous but thrilling ritual.
