Italian Excellence Meets Electrification: Aehra Stunning EV Sedan and SUV to Deliver 497 Mile Range

Italian electric vehicle startup Aehra has unveiled its new sedan, which is set to enter production in 2026 along with the company’s previously revealed SUV. Both models are built on the same EV architecture and will target the high-premium and luxury market segments. The sedan and SUV will have a top speed of 265 km/h (164 mph) and a range of over 800 kilometers (497 miles). However, the testing method used to determine this figure is unclear.

Both vehicles will cost between $175,000 to $197,000. Aehra is expected to have its first deliveries in 2026. Markets such as the United States, Italy, Germany, and the United Kingdom will be targeted. Aehra plans to open pre-orders in 2024, and full-scale production is projected to begin by late 2027. The company aims to produce 25,000 units annually for each model. Aehra’s sedan and SUV are native EVs, meaning their design is predominantly based on new developments rather than repurposing an internal

combustion platform. The design of the sedan, led by Aehra’s head designer Filippo Perini, who has a background with Lamborghini, aims to capture attention and draws inspiration from classic Italian design principles and nature.

The company is still evaluating options for assembly, with a preference for partnering with a large contract manufacturer in central or northern Europe. Alternatively, Aehra may consider establishing a new facility in Italy or refurbishing an existing one, contingent on state funding support. The company has a total investment plan of €750 million ($823 million) and has secured a deal with Austria’s Miba Battery Systems for custom NMC (nickel manganese cobalt) batteries with a capacity of 120 kWh. Aehra’s sedan and SUV feature falcon doors and a full-dashboard-width Human Machine Interface (HMI) screen that can be extended when the vehicle is parked to transform the interior into a home theater or office environment. The company aims to provide an unparalleled all-electric driving experience through advanced global engineering and the use of recyclable carbon fiber composite materials.
