Rare Space Rock Found In Somalia With Two New Minerals That Do Not Naturally Occur On Earth

In 2020, a meteorite weighing16.5-ton was discovered in Somalia, and is supposed to be the ninth biggest ever to be found on Earth.

Now, the scientists have found two new minerals, known as elaliite and elkinstantonite, in the space rock that do not naturally occur on Earth.

The meteorite currently remains in China awaiting a potential buyer, but more samples may be taken later to confirm findings.
