FDA Recalls 6 Acne Treatments as Benzoyl Peroxide Products Exceed Benzene Limit by 18x

1. The FDA has recalled several popular acne products from La Roche-Posay, Proactiv, Walgreens, and SLMD Skincare due to benzene contamination.

Benzene, a known carcinogen linked to leukemia and blood disorders, was detected in certain benzoyl peroxide-based acne treatments.

The recall follows third-party lab testing that found elevated benzene levels in six products, including La Roche-Posay's Effaclar Duo and Proactiv's Emergency Blemish Relief.
