Breeze Airways, the low-cost carrier founded by aviation entrepreneur David Neeleman, is expanding its Florida presence with two new nonstop routes to Key West starting June 12, 2025. Flights will connect Key West International Airport (EYW) with both Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Tampa International Airport (TPA), operating four times weekly on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, with introductory fares from $39 one-way.

“We’re excited to extend our service within the Sunshine State with the addition of new service to Key West,” said David Neeleman, Breeze Airways’ founder and CEO. “We’re confident this will be a very popular addition to Breeze’s national network and look forward to welcoming new and existing Guests to the area onboard an upcoming Breeze flight this summer.”

The expansion makes Key West Breeze’s 10th Florida destination and 70th city served nationally. The airline will operate these routes with its Airbus A220-300 aircraft, which will be among the largest planes to utilize Key West’s 5,000-foot runway.

This development follows Breeze’s recent Florida growth strategy. In December 2024, the airline designated Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) as its 12th base of operations, introducing six new routes connecting the Gulf Coast city to destinations in the Northeast and Midwest. Earlier, in October 2024, Breeze established a base at Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers. Additionally, Breeze is increasing service between Tampa and Pensacola International Airport (PNS) from twice to four times weekly beginning June 5, 2025.

Key West, known for its barrier coral reef, beaches, historic sites like the Ernest Hemingway Home, and vibrant nightlife, attracts thousands of visitors annually. The new affordable air connections are expected to boost tourism and provide economic benefits to local businesses.

The airline’s growth has earned industry recognition. Breeze was named 2025 Startup Airline of the Year by the Centre for Aviation (CAPA) and received Four-Star Low-Cost Carrier status at the 2025 Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) Awards.

Breeze Airways maintains a customer-friendly approach with no change or cancellation fees, up to 24 months of reusable flight credits, free family seating, and customizable flight features.
