Processed Foods, Seed Oils Linked to Colon Cancer Spike

Cancer is one of the most researched subjects of today’s world, for a uniform cure solution  is yet to be found, however techniques like chemotherapy have been developed that can cure cancer under different circumstances and conditions.

Colon cancer is one of the many types of cancer and the areas this cancer affects are the colon and the rectum, which are a part of the digestive system.

In the digestive system, both colon and rectum come at the almost last point of the system, the large intestine absorbs nutrients and water for the last time changing the waste into stool, and rectum stores the stool.

Colon cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer deaths in the United States of America, and it has been revealed that dietary choices have a lot to do with development of this cancer.

Foods which are ultra-processed, have extra added sugar, have saturated fats, chemical and inflammatory seeds oil, form an integral part of modern day western diet, and this diet is greatly responsible for malignities like colon cancer.

Millennials or people born in the last two decades of the twentieth century are exposed to higher risk of this cancer than the generation before them, precisely due to dietary evolution which includes ultra-processed foods and so on.

The increase in linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid, leads to an imbalance of important nutrients like omega 3 and omega 6, which help against colorectal cancer.

Although one can’t really control the development of cancer in oneself, they may and should take precautionary steps like preventing unhealthy ultra-processed foods, including fresh fruits in their diets, regular exercising and so on would be of great help.
