Lake Mead, a wondrous creation, is a natural water reservoir formed by the Colorado river spanning over in the states of Nevada and Arizona.

Lake Mead is a very popular recreational spot making it one of the most visited national parks in the country.

The water source of this lake is the snow from Colorado and the Colorado river and this lake is a very crucial source of water for Arizona, Nevada and Mexico, which forms its outflow besides evaporation.

This lake is a majestic sight to behold, but lately it has been drying up quite rapidly, reaching its lowest just two years back.

This drying up is caused by various factors, the greatest contributors being increasing population that leads to crowding, climate change and global warming, and numerous unauthorized vehicular paths.

Lake Mead area, once so beautiful, is now mained with miles of paths that are unauthorized, used by the public to serve their own favor and recreation, vehicles have destructive impacts on the delicate soil of this region impacting the flora and fauna.

Lake Mead is not at all a suitable area for residential purposes with housing settlements and is often prone to accidents, this however needs correction and accordingly steps will be taken.

A multi year conservation initiative is being taken up with a hefty amount of funding, beside conservation initiatives, educating the people about the delicacy of Lake Mead and importance of its conservation will also be carried out.

Lake Mead is now at a very low capacity, the depletion of water levels gave rise to huge areas of land that was supposed to be under water and thus initiatives to avoid further degradation and improving conditions is very important.
