Elon Musk confirmed on X that Starlink's ability to connect directly to cell phones is being quickly rolled out across hurricane-hit areas.
T-Mobile users will be able to use Starlink to send and receive text messages, where the network will be identified as "T-Mobile SpaceX."
The FCC gave emergency authority to Starlink to provide service to areas afflicted by the hurricane throughout Florida.
Hurricane Milton, a Category 5 hurricane with winds of 160 miles per hour, is making for the West Coast of Florida.
A warning has been issued by The National Hurricane Center, about deadly storm surges up to 10 feet along the coast.
Starlink may require users to retry sending messages, and it works best while outside.
